Twisted Octahedron Flat & FormedThe Twisted Octahedron is constructed of eight hexagons. This one has the simplest construction yet I had the most fun just playing with the pieces to see how the look would transform with just a few pieces before trying to bend them all together. The Slide Together Polyhedra series were made by combining the instructions of geometers, Adam Williamson and George Heart. They are drawn with compass and straight edge and decorated with white ink laid out

The Twisted Octahedron is constructed of eight hexagons. This one has the simplest construction yet I had the most fun just playing with the pieces to see how the look would transform with just a few pieces before trying to bend them all together. 

The Slide Together Polyhedra series were made by combining the instructions of geometers, Adam Williamson and George Heart. They are drawn with compass and straight edge and decorated with white ink laid out with vintage ruling compasses and ruling pens. The edges are gilt in 24k gold leaf.

Each polyhedra comes with its own unframed 16"x9" 2D tiling view equivalent also drawing with compass and straight edge but instead decorated with black ink laid out with vintage ruling compasses and ruling pens. To make the polyhedra, I first had to create a drawing just like this and cut it out to create the faces along the less visible pencil lines.

Hand made product: please allow for evidences of the artistic process and allow for the possibility of the black paper fading over time if exposed to sunlight though they did hang in a window for a few months for an art show and did well.
