Though a diminutive hero of comic narrative, Winsor McCays Little Nemo is one of the greatest cultural phenomenons in early 20th-century media and entertainment history. This sparkling reprint includes all 220 of Nemos nighttime escapades through Slumberland from 1905 to 1909 alongside a 150-page illustrated essay from art historian Alexander Braun.
Little Nemo may be a diminutive hero of comic narrative but he sure stands tall as one of the greatest voyagers of the 20th century. The master creation of Winsor McCay (18691934), this small and restless sleeper inspired generations of artists with his weekly adventures from bed to Slumberland, a dream realm of colorful companions, elaborate architecture, psychedelic scenery, and thrilling adventures.Winsor McCays Little Nemo 19051909 collects, in glorious full color, all 220 of Nemos nocturnal escapades from the period 1905 to 1909. Through them, we delight not only in the splendor of Slumberland, a surreal benchmark for Robert Crumb and Federico Fellini, but also McCays pioneering panel layout and storytelling techniques, his timing and pacing, and extraordinary architectural detail. In the accompanying 150-page illustrated essay, art historian and comics expert Alexander Braun places Winsor McCays life and work within the cultural history of the U.S. media and entertainment industry, and explores the immense art historical significance of McCays dream narrative. At once an adventure story, visual delight, and piece of cultural history, this publication is a tremendous monument to one of the most innovative pioneersand one of the most intrepid explorersof comic history.

Cute read
Format: Kindle
Overall, this was a cute read. I liked the characters mostly. Remy was a bit ridiculous at points. Would consider reading more by this author.

very cute!
Format: Kindle
This is my first read from this author. The story was very cute with some angsty moments. I loved the way the different MMCs helped the FMC as she recovered from the trauma she endured. It was a great way to highlight their personalities!

Touching OV
Format: Kindle
Really wonderful book. It starts heavy, and slowly lightens up. Some reviews have talked about the FMC not reacting to trauma in a believable way, but her boundless optimism was what she turns to. There is no one, correct way of dealing with trauma, so it didn't come off as flippant. It's a slow burn, with spice coming in the 2nd half of the book. A good read.

cute, wish there was more character growth but definitely sweet
Format: Kindle
Serenity was abused by her parents when she presented as an omega and sold off to someone who starved, assaulted and made her do questionable things while he waited for her heat to come. In a desperate attempt at getting free she was able to run away and was hit with a pack who ended up being a scent match. While this story was sweet I wanted to see some development of Serenity and Remy’s characters. Serenity was abused and forced to do things from an alpha’s bark, I wanted to see her growth from that but it was basically night and day. Same with Remy, he just miraculously had an aha moment and that was it. Overall a sweet story.

so engaging
Format: Kindle
Start to finish, I was hooked. The imagery, the emotion, the drama, and the real world application all linked perfectly together with the healing power of love, and compassion. If you never give up hope, all things will work out in your favor. Thanks Serenity for being so strong and resilient. Thanks AJ Shirley for your amazing work. On to book two!
