Een fenomenale regio die bekend staat om haar prachtige rode wijnen. Torres Salmos wordt pas sinds eind jaren 90 geassembleerd, maar heeft in ruim 20 jaar al vele harten veroverd.

Wijnregio Priorat

Deze wijnregio wordt beschouwd als de schatkist van Spanje. Het gebied was heel lang verborgen op het internationale toneel, maar heeft zich de afgelopen jaren geopenbaard als een juweel op wijngebied. De regio, een van de kleinste van Spanje, ligt vlakbij metropool Barcelona. Het gebied kenmerkt zich door de donkere bodem. Dit genereert krachtige rode wijnen die goed kunnen ouderen. In 1954 kreeg het een D.O. erkenning. Echter hebben de boeren hard geïnvesteerd en geïnnoveerd. Dit werd beloont met een DoCa erkenning in 2009. Sindsdien is de vraag naar Priorat explosief gestegen, simpelweg omdat ze uitermate goed van kwaliteit zijn. Torres Salmos Priorat is daarin geen uitzondering.

De samenstelling van Torres Salmos Priorat

Deze fantastische wijn van Torres bestaat uit drie druivenrassen. De inheemse soorten Garnache en Carinena. Tevens is er ook een bijrol weggelegd voor de Syrah. Deze zorgt voor het robuust en rijkelijke karakter van Torres Salmos Priorat. NA de handmatige oogst wordt het sap voor deze Torres Salmos gerijpt op eiken houten vaten voor een periode van 14 maanden. Torres gebruikt bijzondere Franse vaten waarvan een deel nieuw is. Hierdoor krijgt deze Spaanse rode wijn nog meer diepgang en rijkdom.

De geur en smaak van Torres Salmos Priorat

Dat dit een subliem glas wijn is, doet de geur al deels vermoeden. Je neus wordt verwend door brede tonen van rijp zwart fruit en iets van bloesems. Complexiteit zoals zoete specerijne, vanille, dropjes en laurier maken de geur helemaal compleet. Elke keer wanneer je je neus in een glas Torres Salmos Priorat gebruikt, ontdek je weer andere tonen. She had 1 best friend I wish we could have seen a little bit more of their friendship in this book. Her relationship with the male characters was good not to contrived or super instantaneous. And we had some fun plot twists that I didn't expect. I wish we had more of a follow up on the situation with her family her background and her mother who was a wench. I would definitely recommend this book.
