This protective lens is custom made and compatible with the entire SiOnyx Aurora series (Aurora SPORT, BLACK, STANDARD CLASSIC, PRO and PRO EXPLORER).

SiOnyx Front Objective Lens Protection Shield
This SiOnyx front objective lens protection shield is a useful accessory that you can use to protect the lens of your SiOnyx color night vision camera from scratches and impacts. This lens does not affect the light transmission of your night vision device. This protective lens is custom-made and compatible with the entire SiOnyx Aurora series (Aurora SPORT, BLACK, STANDARD/CLASSIC, PRO and PRO EXPLORER).

The housing is made of 3D-printed plastic and features a serrated edge on the outer rim for a high level of grip (useful when wearing gloves, for example). The inside is lined with Velcro, allowing you to securely attach the protective shield to the objective lens of your SiOnyx camera. The assembly is sturdy enough to ensure it will not come loose during use. The lens itself is made of plexiglass and is only 4 mm thick. The entire product weighs less than 25 grams.

Impact Test
The plexiglass is strong enough to withstand multiple impacts from airsoft BBs traveling at approximately 90 meters per second (around 1 joule). This test was conducted using 0.20 gram airsoft BBs. In practice, this means the lens will protect against most impacts during airsoft/paintball use. According to testing, the plexiglass no longer provides protection when using 0.45 gram BBs (130 m/s) or heavier.

Application – SiOnyx Front Objective Lens Protection Shield
This accessory is useful in any situation where the objective lens of your SiOnyx color night vision camera may be at risk of damage. For example, from airsoft BBs that may strike the lens. It is also ideal in any situation where you want to provide additional protection to the lens, making this shield a valuable addition.

Note: this shield protects the lens against impacts according to official test results. However, we will never be responsible for any damage that may occur to (the lens of) your night vision camera.
