HP DX175 Hard Drive Carrier Frame

The HP DX175 Hard Drive Carrier Frame is a rugged, enterprise-grade solution designed to securely hold a hard drive inside compatible HP server chassis. Built for reliability in data centers and mission-critical environments, the DX175 focuses on precise alignment, robust construction, and streamlined maintenance. It supports HP’s hot-swappable workflows and helps maximize uptime by simplifying drive installation, replacement, and expansion across HP storage and server ecosystems. This carrier frame blends durable materials with smart design to deliver consistent performance under heavy workloads, while maintaining clean airflow and vibration control essential for data integrity.

  • Premium build and design for HP servers: Crafted from sturdy steel with a durable, corrosion-resistant finish, the DX175 is engineered to withstand the rigors of data-center operation. Its tight tolerances ensure a snug, secure fit inside compatible HP chassis, minimizing movement and vibration that can impact drive performance. The frame’s reinforced mounting points support long-term durability, helping to protect critical data as workloads scale across enterprise environments.
  • Easy installation and tool-free maintenance: The DX175 is designed to accelerate maintenance windows with straightforward installation and removal. Whether performing routine drive swaps or larger storage upgrades, the carrier frame offers user-friendly access and secure retention mechanisms that reduce downtime. Clear alignment features help technicians position the frame quickly, while standard hardware keeps compatibility broad across HP systems.
  • Maximized drive reliability and cooling: A focus on airflow and vibration dampening helps maintain drive health during sustained operations. The DX175’s channeling and clearance are optimized to minimize hot spots, supporting consistent thermal performance. By stabilizing drive placement, the frame reduces wear and tear on connectors and interfaces, contributing to longer drive life and steadier performance in data-heavy applications.
  • Flexibility and compatibility: This drive carrier frame is designed to work within a broad range of HP servers and storage enclosures that support the DX175 form factor. It enables scalable storage expansion across multiple chassis types, providing a common platform for upgrades without requiring a full chassis replacement. The DX175 integrates smoothly with HP’s drive bays and cable management schemes to maintain tidy, reliable deployments.
  • Cost-effective upgrade solution: By enabling simple insertion of an additional drive into existing HP configurations, the DX175 helps organizations grow capacity without incurring the expense of new enclosures or redesigned infrastructure. The frame’s reuse-friendly design supports phased upgrades, reducing downtime and preserving capital efficiency while boosting overall storage performance.

How to Install HP DX175 Hard Drive Carrier Frame

  • Prepare the server and enclosure: Power down the HP system and unplug all power and data connections. Ground yourself to prevent electrostatic discharge, and open the chassis according to HP maintenance procedures.
  • Inspect compatibility: Verify that the chassis model supports the DX175 carrier frame and that the drive to be mounted matches the frame’s intended drive type and height within the HP ecosystem.
  • Position the carrier frame: Align the DX175 with the designated drive bay in the HP chassis. Ensure the frame slides smoothly into the bay without forcing components, and confirm that mounting holes align with the chassis rails or screw points.
  • Secure and connect: Attach the frame securely using the appropriate screws or retention mechanism provided for HP systems. If required, connect any associated power or data interfaces according to HP guidelines, taking care not to overtighten fasteners.
  • Install the drive: Insert the hard drive into the carrier frame, ensuring connectors align properly. Lock the drive into place with the frame’s retention features, and gently slide the assembly back into the chassis, confirming full engagement with the backplane or connector.
  • Test and verify: Reassemble any chassis panels, reconnect power and data cables, and power on the server. Enter the system’s BIOS or management interface to confirm the drive is recognized. Run a basic diagnostic or drive health check to confirm proper operation and cooling performance.
  • Document and monitor: Record the installation details for future reference, including drive serial numbers and bay location. Monitor the system after installation to ensure stable performance and expected thermal behavior during initial workload conditions.

Our Belgian Malinois loves them, her favorite is the beef, as you can see. They last several months, we swap them out around the 3 to 4 month mark.

Great buy-read update
Flavor Name: Beef, Size: Large
My dog loved it right away. Kept going from his old bone to this one and finally just stuck with this one. My dog is a 90 pound 1.5 year old German Shepherd. The size is fine. I don’t know what the other people were talking about when they said the large was too small for big dogs. It’s not indestructible, after one day there were serious gouges on it, but it looks like it’s going to last quite awhile. I will say, he’s not able to gnaw off little pieces of it, and that’s a great thing. I couldn’t give it five stars, because we just received it, and the dog has only had it for a few days. So it’s 4 stars. ****UPDATE**** As of Jan. 1, 2021, the bone is in the trash. The thing seemed to get softer and come apart more easily the more he chewed. I was finding little pieces all over and god only knows much of it he swallowed. Now I give it 3 stars.

Yes it's for aggressive chewers
Flavor Name: Beef, Size: Medium, Flavor Name: Beef, Size: Medium
I have 2 dogs a malti poo and 120 lb pit rotty mix. My son just moved in with his 8 month old pitty/ 90 lbs. needless to say we have purchased sooo many bones and toys, always have to have bones for them all or they argue and fight. This bone we have had for about 8 -9 days.. They all chew on it non stop and it is still fully intact with a few rough areas where they chewed up the suface. The picture was taken today. But keep in mind they will typically go through a large elk antler ($40) in about 4-5 days.. down to splinters. but not this bone. I got the beef. It does have a slight smell, kind of beefy but no worse than some other bones we bought. Only noticed it taking it out of the package. They all enjoy it. I was worried they wouldn't be interested because it's fake.. but no. I will definitely purchase a few more cuz when someone isn't home the pitty will chew shoes or remotes, etc. Every day was a new surprise. But he hasn't touched anything since we got this bone. I would definitely recommend for aggressive chewers and the price is reasonable.

Disappointing
Flavor Name: Chicken, Size: Large
I was disappointed. In the description, it mentioned it has meat aroma. It doesn't. My dog has barely paid any attention to it at all... and he will chew on anything!
