Incredible vintage Comme des Garcons sweater from the iconic Fall/Winter 2002 collection, shown documented here on the runway. This piece hails from the sought after 'Free Knitting' or 'Knitting is Free' collection, and you'll find many examples from this runway are museum-held. Like all Rei Kawakubo fashions, this piece is conceptual. Charcoal grey-black knit wool cardigan style back side and sleeve. Deepest black velvet runs up the sleeve and spans the front, with extra long tails extending to the legs. Butterscotch tortoise buttons close the front in a double breasted fashion, and can be closed from either side.
